About Kampong Phluk Floating Village
A commune of stilted houses up to 10 meters tall on the Tonlé Sap floodplain. In the wet season boats drift between the houses and through the flooded mangrove forest; in the dry season the same houses tower over dusty streets.
Why we love it
This is the floating-village trip we recommend — a real working community, dramatically different by season, and far less scam-prone than Chong Kneas. Go with a reputable operator and late afternoon light.
Good to Know
How long should I plan for Kampong Phluk Floating Village?
Half a day including the drive and boat — afternoon departures catch the best light, and wet-season months (roughly June–November) are the most dramatic, when boats drift between the stilted houses.
